Taking Back My Life

This is my Story

Ivan - Navy

“You know, I mean, there’s only so much they (Veterans Place) can do, but the more people involved, the more they can do.”

Answered Prayers

Everybody has different situations, different problems, but you can find a common ground and that’s what it takes… finding that common ground. And also, a lot of help from God. A lot of help. I strongly believe that he’s always there and your prayers will always be answered. Even if doesn’t happen right away, it’s bound to happen sooner or later.

Always Hope

It’s just like yourselves, you hear. I think by you being here, you can show people and tell people what’s going on. Put a story out there that there’s always hope. If you’re in a dark place, you know, find the right light. Walk towards it. You don’t always have to stay into the darkness. And as long as you find that particular spot, you’ll find that life is a lot easier.

Made it pretty alright.

Or tried to at least. Had memory loss and all that stuff there. They said I wouldn’t gain my memory back. It took almost thirty years to get it back, but I finally got it started coming back slowly. You know, kind of lost out there without knowing I had a past. And it’s rough, very rough. So these people, they helped me real well to get my life together back on track.”
